Lichen Lore

This series delves into the intricate worlds of lichens—ancient, slow-growing life forms that blur the boundaries between plant, fungus, and alga. Often overlooked, lichens thrive in the quiet corners of woodland and stone, clinging to bark, rock, and ruin with silent persistence.

Through close observation, I explore their delicate structures, subtle colours, and otherworldly forms. Magnified and abstracted, these prints reveal hidden landscapes—networks of survival, symbiosis, and time written on the skin of the land.

Lichen Lore invites us to slow down, to notice the overlooked, and to consider the stories held in the smallest patches of growth. In their quiet resilience, lichens speak of continuity, adaptation, and the deep interconnection of all living things.
